Persistent organic pollutants in air and precipitation

Updated 2017-10-13

National Environmental Monitoring Programme in Sweden. Measurements of persistant organic pollutants in air and precipitation are carried out at Råö, Hallahus, Aspvreten, and in Pallas (Northern Finland). The monitoring programme includes measurements of: polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), some pesticides (HCH, DDT) and polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDE).

This is a National Implementation Plan (NIP) project
Comments and additional information:

In co-operation with the Finnish Meteorolocal Institute (FMI), measurements are performed at Pallas in the far North of Finland close to the Swedish border.

The number of stations and their location as well as the frequency of measurements varies over time.
