Procedures and methodology used for, e.g., sampling and sample storage, sample pretreatment, extraction and analysis, including which laboratories are involved, references to methods employed, etc.

Heavy metals: Bulk samples of precipitation. Analysis: ICP-MS. Laboratory: Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI). Acidifying compounds: Bulk precipitation samples for major ions. Filter sampling for sulphate, sulphur dioxide, nitrate+nitric acid, ammonium+ammonia. The methods are from the EMEP manual. Laboratory: Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI).

QA/QC Information (what QA/QC procedures are implemented, laboratories involvment in QA/QC activities, model verification/validation routines, etc.)

The laboratory of FMI is accredited for analysis of heavy metals and major ions.
